Random Thoughts for Monday:

*Playing Angry Birds on my phone is super addicting and infuriating at the same time.

*I'm looking forward to seeing my friend Christine tomorrow!!  She's coming for dinner.  Its been like a year since we've gotten together (far too long).  Love you Tiner!

*Our friends Bekki and Camilo are moving to Spain.  :*(  Super sad that they're leaving, but super excited for them to start a new adventure.  Plus I now have an excuse to go to Spain.  :-)  Definitely going to miss playing Rock Band with you guys!

*Someone buy my house:   BUY MY HOUSE!

*Random picture I found while looking for another picture:

YIKES!  Who is that chick!?

The Oscars are on tomorrow night!  I love watching them.  I've watched them for as long as I can remember.

Some Oscar trivia for you:

The youngest person to ever receive an Oscar was 5-year-old Shirley Temple - in 1934.
(However, Shirley's Oscar was an honorary one.)
The youngest actress to win a standard Oscar wasTatum O'Neal, who was 10 years old when she won the Best Supporting Actress award for "Paper Moon" in 1974.)
George Burns was the oldest Oscar winner when he won as Best Supporting Actor for "The Sunshine Boys." at age 80 (in 1976).
But that mark was later surpassed by Jessica Tandy, who won her Best Actress Oscar at age 81 for "Driving Miss Daisy."
The oldest actor to win the Oscar for Best Actor wasHenry Fonda, for "On Golden Pond". He was 76.

I think the only one of those movies I've seen is "Driving Miss Daisy" - I really need to watch more old movies.

The three movies that won the most Oscars were "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" (2003),
"Titanic" (1997) and "Ben-Hur" (1959). All three movies won 11 statuettes.
(Second place is held by "West Side Story," which won ten Oscars.)

Again I've only seen LOTR and Titanic.

Of the 10 2011 Best Picture Nominees, I've only seen "Toy Story 3", "Inception" and "The Social Network".  I've heard nothing but great things from friends who have seen "The King's Speech" and most people I know didn't really like "Black Swan" - I'm sensing a nomination simply because the movie has some shock value or something.  I'm guessing "The King's Speech" will win based on the buzz I've heard about it.

I've seen 2 of the nominated films for Best Documentary, "Gasland" and "Exit Through The Gift Shop" - loved them both (even if they both pissed me off a little - documentaries are suppose to get your blood pumping a little I think).

And then there's the red carpet!  Can't wait to see what everyone is wearing.

Some of my all time favorites:

Kate - always looks amazing.  I have a slight girl crush on her.

Michelle Williams - Kudos for wearing something besides black, white or red.

And Grace Kelly because she's Grace Kelly.

And then there's the bad...... (mostly from the late 80's, early 90's - SHOCKING I know)

I won't even put the Bjork swan catastrophe on, that's a given, haha!

Happy Popcorn and Movies everyone!

One of the blogs I read daily was about teen idols today - in particular she was speaking to her niece about Justin Bieber.   I still crack up when my niece asks me if (valley girl voice) "OMGisn'tjustinbiebersohaaaawt??"  Um, no that would make me a pedophile.

Anyhoo, the blogger asked the question - who's picture was hanging in your locker (or bedroom) when you were a teeny bopper.  Me?

Marky Mark (long before he was "Mark Wahlberg") in his Calvins.

Who was hanging in your room/locker?

And you're welcome for the Marky Mark picture.

I know I've blogged about this similar topic awhile back, but earlier today I was going through my calendar (remember the blog about my control freakedness?)  and looking at all the stuff coming up.  I'm super excited to have fun stuff going on, yet at the same time it will make my freakin' summer go by in 2 seconds.  :-(

Fun stuff going on this spring/summer:

Concerts:  CAKE and Florence + The Machine (May and June)

House on the Rock/Taliesin road trip (May)

Wedding (June)

Movies:  HARRY POTTAAAH! (July)

Stuff I plan on doing this spring/summer:

* Spin Class
* Farmer's Market
* Taking Lucas' niece to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts
* Having the god children up
* Having my family up for boating on Lake Minnetonka.  Vinci approves of boating on Lake Minnetonka.

* MOVING!
* I would LOVE to go visit my friend Boo, and Lucas' aunt and uncle and cousin in Denver at some point!
* Trying lots of new restaurants in Minneapolis/St. Paul

Now, spring/summer, where are you????

Day 30/30 - A picture of your day.

What a day for this post - Snowmageddon 2.0

We started in with our snowstorm yesterday so I was up this morning at 5:40 am (the clock is 10 min fast) because I had no clue how long it would take to get to work.  Luckily it only took about 40 min.  I saw 3 or 4 people stuck in the streets on my way in.

This is what we woke up to.   Joy.  I could see GRASS a couple days ago.  I think we got 10-12 inches, maybe more - south Minneapolis ended up with closer to 15-18 inches I think.

Got to work and moved to a different cubicle which took about an hour so I was glad I got there early.  Then I was starving.  Hellooooo breakfast:

We have established I luuuurve PB, right?

Once I got home I shoveled the deck for the pups and the front steps/walk.  My rockstar neighbor Collette came over with her snowblower and did the driveway.  WIN!

Starving dogs (4 of the 5)

Line up the bowls!

I had my favorite Trader Joe's sammy for dinner (I had leftover pasta for lunch so I wasn't as hungry for dinner).

Chheeeeeeese

The rest of my evening will be spent blogging, Facebooking, reading Spark, watching TV and cuddling with my puppies!

Did you all survive Snowmageddon 2.0????

Day 29/30 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day.

This one is hard....  since its only for a DAY, I would pick either:

Oprah - because I want to know what its like to have more money than I know what to do with, have my own chef, trainer, jet, make up artist, stylist, etc. AND be able to give away my money in copious amounts to people who really need it.

or

Someone who had died - because I want to know IF there is life after death and if so, what goes on over there.   Morbid I know, but I'm curious.  :-)

Day 28/30 -  A picture of you last year and now, how have you changed since then?

Finally, an easy one, lol.  Obviously the major thing that's changed for me this year is my weight.  I can't think of anything else really?  I work for 2 surgeons now instead of 1.  Still have 3 dogs, 1 husband, same friends, same house (for now).

                    Christmas 2009

This was literally a year ago - it was the end of February because we were having a potluck at work to celebrate Foxy Roxy's birthday.  That would be Foxy and Nurse Brown harassing me while *I* was actually working, lol.  I was about 10 lbs down in this picture.

Now!  Last night before dinner.  Lucas decided he needed some pictures of me in his phone so he took these:

Me and ze puppies - only the little grey blur is mine.  Booker (the red blur) and Zoe, the dog almost as tall as me, are our house guests for the week.

My supermodel pose, lol.  I'm such a nerd.
