Day 25

Day 25 — Your beauty regime.

Ok this may sound like a lot but it only takes me about 15 min.

Start with face primer, followed my foundation and concealer.  Top with loose powder. Eye primer on the lids followed my eye shadow - for every day I usually do a creamy/nude color all over with a light brown in the crease of my eye.   You can see here what colors I use most in my favorite palette ever - Naked by Urban Decay.

Then I do either liquid eyeliner, gel liner (I started using gel liner from E.L.F - its like $1 or maybe its $2 - either way I like it and its cheap!) or eye pencil depending on what look I'm going for.  Mascara (top lashes only).  Fill in the brows (they're blonde, my hair currently is not).  Chapstick topped with lipstick.  Touch up with powder if needed.  Pretty simple.  :)

Day 23 — Your best bargain makeup item. 

Essie Nail Polish!  Love it - you can sometimes find it on sale for $5.  Its one of the only polishes I've ever had that lasts.   This is my newest fave color - Jamaica Me Happy.  Hello Spring!

And Cover Girl Lash Perfection mascara.  My fave!

Oscar Red Carpet

Let's get right to it.

Here's who I loved:

Ellie Kemper (who's she?  She's on The Office).  Love the dress.  Love the hair.  Its a little weird that they match but it works.

My girl Emma Stone - love it.  I'm not generally a fan of bows around your neck but I like this.  The color looks fantastic too.

 Milla Jovovich - love the red lips and the retro hair and the white structured dress.  Everything works.

Kelly Osbourne - she's killing me with the hair - it clashes big time with her dress... but I like the dress so I'll not look at her from the neck up.

Gwyneth - killin' it.

Jane Seymour - once I got past the "what the hell is she doing at the Oscars" moment, I thought "Damn she looks good for 61 years old" - go Dr. Quinn.

These fall in the "I can't decide if I like these or not but something makes me keep looking at them" dresses.

Michelle Williams.  I'm on the fence.  I think I like it...  Its very Michelle Williams with a retro twist.

Natalie Portman - I can't decide on this one...  the dress seems too casual (its the polka dots) and I hate that necklace with the dress.

Tina Fey - this doesn't photograph well - its actually a dark purple.  I love the shape on her.  Wish she'd wear more color.

Angelina - I need to see more pics before I can make a final ruling....  I think I like it.  And her hair and make up look fab.

Nancy O'Dell - I like that she's done something different than she always does (aka I'm going to prom).  I like that its different that most dresses you see on the red carpet.

 Jessica Chastain (from The Help) - some of the fashion peeps were going gaga over this dress.  I think its too harsh for her.  

And the dresses I don't like at all....

Missi Pyle - there is just too much going on here - the weird shoulder thing, the draping, the prom hair, the prom necklace.  I like the color.  That's about it.

Oh Stacy Kiebler - just because you're at the Oscars doesn't mean you should dress like him (unless your Meryl Streep).  George looks fabby though.

Rooney Mara - this does nothing for the girls... if it weren't for that detail I would like it.  The color is great for her skin/hair.

Kristen Wiig - sweet baby Jesus would it kill you to wear some COLOR?

Mrs. Colin Firth - new meaning of the phrase "crumb catcher".....

Day 22

Day 22 — Your beauty tips for a big night out.

Hmmm, I don't know if I have any beauty "tips" - I learned alot of makeup tips by just watching You Tube videos and reading make up blogs.

The only tips I can think of off the top of my head are:

- Wear eye shadow primer - your eyeshadow will stay PUT even through the heat of summer. I use Urban Decay Primer Potion.  Love it.

- If you want to look a little more "awake" put a shimmery white shadow in your tear duct area of the eye and on the brow bone.

- Good to Go top coat by Essie is THE best topcoat - put it on, wait about 2-3 minutes and you're good to go.  Wear it alone or over polish.  

- Don't be afraid to wear red lipstick.  :)

Day 21

Day 21 — Your favorite lipstick

I have two that I love.  First is Revlon Lip Butter - these are new and they're almost like chapstick but with some color - I use Cherry Tart because I love a red lip.

Secondly is L'Oreal Infallible Lip Gloss - I can't remember what color I have other than its a dark red.  I wore it for my Mad Men look.

Day 20

Day 20 — Your favorite mascara

I just recently found a mascara I freaking love.  I've tried all kinds of mascara (expensive and cheap) and could never find any that I loved.  That search is over... which reminds me I should go buy like 19 tubes because anytime you love something it get discontinued - Murphy's Law.

Day 17

Day 17 — Fashion Pieces on your to-buy list

Maxi dresses!  I love them.  I can't wait to wear them this summer.  

Oh, and my uber talented husband has been asked to take part in TWO art shows this summer so I'll need something fabby for a couple art openings.  :)  Details to come later!

Day 16

Day 16 — A celebrity whose fashion you don't like.

Jennifer Aniston - I won't say I hate her style, but I think she's uber boring.  When you have a killer body, designers who would love to dress you and money is no object - wear something besides a black dress (ok she occasionally throws in white or nude)!

Day 15

Day 15 — Your favorite piece of jewelry. 

That would be my wedding ring.  We designed it ourselves.   The middle stone is a sapphire flanked by two diamonds.

Day 14 — Photo of a hairstyle/haircut you'd like to have

I like the ombre hair color but that requires long hair and as much as my husband begs me to have long hair, I kind of prefer my hair short.  :)

If I could do bangs - I don't think I can because I have a stupid cowlick - I would totally do this:

Day 13 — Photo of your fashion/style icon

Hmm.... that's a hard one.... I wouldn't say I have a fashion "icon" but I do enjoy Emma Stone and Zooey Deschanel's style.

Day 12

Day 12 — Your Favorite color of clothing

I put together a few outfits using colors I'm loving right now.

Cobalt (I only went with red flats because the dress has a red belt with it - normally I wouldn't pair it with red because it screams 4th of July to me). 

Emerald - I love wearing green.  I have green eyes and when I wear green people accuse me of wearing fake contacts so it must do something right for my eyes!

Mustard - one of my favorite ways to wear mustard is with a pop of teal.

Day 11

Day 11 — Bag you want to have.

I'm not a huge handbag freak so there isn't one I have to have.  But let me show you how much really dumb rich people will pay for a bag - this bag right here:

- $120 THOUSAND dollars.  Yep - Victoria Beckham has like 4 different colors..  Its made out of some poor crocodile and has diamonds encrusted on the clasp.  And it has the name "Hermes" attached to it.  

Red Suede Shoes

Don't you love my new shoes??  I kinda do.  I ordered a pair of nude wedges from Payless and they were too big so I had to return them today.  I got nude wedges that fit AND these red ones and I paid less for both than I paid for the one pair online.   Yes!

Here's me not paying attention again lol.

Day 10

A third of the way through the 30 Day Blog Challenge.

Day 10 — Current fashion/style you like.  

Thanks to Mad Men the retro look is totally on trend right now.  I love it!  Banana Republic did a Mad Men Collection and Jason Wu for Target had some retro looking dresses too.

Day 09 — Your favorite pair of shoes

I can't say I have a favorite pair of shoes.  I like shoes that are cute and comfortable. :)

On another note - here's my outfit today.  We got to wear jeans to work (these are dark so they don't look like jeans).  Sorry about the wrinkled shirt - these were taken after work.
